About Us
We are an independent family business with backgrounds in the joinery trade, product design, manufacturing and art & studio crafts. We have been in the retail business since 1992. Each & every enquiry will receive our friendly and personal attention from start to finish.
Our beautiful showrooms are in a lovely converted granary barn in the Rural Shopping Yard (cafe, deli, country & fashion clothing, gifts, beauty parlour, glassware, gallery etc) situated in the centre of the pretty village of Castle Ashby, approx. 15 mins from Northampton, 25 minutes from Bedford and Milton Keynes, and 20 mins from M1 J14 & J15. Castle Ashby is sign posted off the A428.
Whilst striving for the best quality workmanship and materials we also believe in good value for money. Our passion is the beauty of solid oak but we also sell other hardwood furniture such as Sheesham, Acacia, Mahogany & Pine. We are knowledgeable about timber and its design and are always happy to advise on the practical aspects of our furniture. We are also keen to explain the differences in quality of manufactured furniture and how this is reflected in the price of the products that we sell.
Our prices also reflect the competitiveness of the internet. We offer highly competitive internet prices which are approx. 20% less than most high street retailers and recommended retail prices. We don't play the 'high mark-up - big discount' game, preferring to be fair and straight from the start. All items offered for sale through our website are priced in pounds sterling and are inclusive of VAT at 15%.
Most of our furniture is sourced directly from manufacturers in Britain, Europe & India and therefore represents a considerable saving on High Street prices. Some of our ranges are held in stock whilst other items are made to order. This means that we can sometimes have special sizes manufacured if required.
Our furniture showrooms have a continuously changing display of a number of items from each range of solid wood furniture shown on the website. Some items can be collected from the showroom but if you are interested in seeing a particular item please contact us in advance so that we can arrange to have it in stock or on display in time for your visit.
Sale items or end-of-line products are usually available on a cash & carry basis so it is worth calling in. Visitors are most welcome during our opening hours: Wed-Sat 10.30am to 5pm, Sun 11am to 5pm. If these are not convenient for you other times may be available by appointment.
We also specialise in genuine hand-made Venetian Masks suitable for wearing to parties or for wall decoration. Our carefully chosen collection is the largest in the UK with designs being continuously added or changed. They are hand made and imported direct from a selection of workshops in Venice. A huge range are on display in the showroom but most of them are available to purchase onlline.
Our website, open 24/7, is divided between furniture & venetian masks and arranged so that you can quickly and easily browse the vast range of products we have to offer and locate specific items quickly. We are more than happy to give you advice and answer any of your queries but please note that we are closed on Mondays & Tuesdays (usually for local deliveries)
